Dr Isabella Muzio joined The Open University as Associate Lecturer in 2009 where she currently teaches the MA module in contemporary political philosophy and supervises MA dissertations on topics ranging from metaphysics to the philosophy of mind to political philosophy. Prior to coming to the Open University, she taught at UCL, Birkbeck and The University of Essex.
Isabella gained her PhD from University College London where she wrote a thesis entitled ‘Consciousness, Self-Consciousness and Introspective self-Knowledge’ under the supervision of Professor M.G.F Martin. Her research interests remain primarily in the philosophy of mind – specifically on issues surrounding self-knowledge, rationality and emotions. She currently has a number of papers on these topics under review for publication and is also working on a book, preliminarily entitled Knowing Our Own Emotions.
