Professional biography

Kerri-Anne joined the Open University in 2013 for her PhD studentship with the Listening Experience Database. Prior to this, she completed an MPhil in Music Studies at Queens’ College, Cambridge and BA (Hons) in Music at Christ’s College, Cambridge. As a student in Cambridge, Kerri-Anne sang with Christ’s College Chapel Choir under Professor David Rowland, and rowed competitively for Queen’s College. Since starting her PhD, she has sung regularly with Cantamus choir, Bedford.

Research interests

Kerri-Anne is currently researching the effects of total war upon the experience of listening to music in Second World War Britain. Her research has led to an exploration of the BBC, popular, classical and military musical endeavours during the war through the writings of ‘ordinary’ listeners.
