I am currently studying for a PhD in Sociology. My PhD examines a publicly funded grants programme for popular musicians based in England. One of my key areas of interest is what value this public funding intervention has for the musicians, managers and organisations involved. This research intersects with several areas of literature including cultural sociology, cultural value, cultural work, cultural policy and popular music.
