The theme of this initial network building workshop is Using historical and participatory methods to explore changes in farming lives in the past and the present. Participants will include researchers, activists and campaigners from academia, NGOs, and local farming communities.
This exploratory project will involve gathering the histories of a group of small farming communities in Ramanagaram district, Karnataka, India.
This project will support a current initiative on empowering rural women undertaken by Green Foundation. Interviews with women farmers on aspects of their cultural and working livers and of their knowledge and use of plants will be carried out.
