Book Week Scotland - In the Freethinker's Footsteps

Dates
Monday, November 27, 2017 - 14:00 to 15:30
Location
Scottish Storytelling Centre, 43-45 High Street, EH1 1SR Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Join historical novelist Heather Richardson for a talk and tour of Thomas Aikenhead’s Edinburgh. The event will start with a virtual tour of old Edinburgh on a newly-created interactive map of the city, followed by a walk around some of the key locations in Aikenhead’s short life.

Thomas Aikenhead was executed for blasphemy in 1697, and is the subject of Richardson’s latest novel, Doubting Thomas (Vagabond Voices). The interactive map has been developed by Vagabond Voices with the generous support of Publishing Scotland’s Go-Digital Fund.

This event is organised by The Open University in Scotland for Book Week Scotland.
