Fragments by Laura Swift and Russell Bender

Dates
Thursday, November 2, 2017 - 19:30 to 21:00
Location
Old Fire Station Theatre, 40 George St, Oxford OX1 2AQ

Fragments is a work-in-progress performance inspired by the surviving scraps of papyrus that are all we have left of a "lost" play from ancient Greece found by archaeologists in Egypt. These tattered lines and jumbled dialogue offer tantalising snapshots of a story. Fragments will use this as a jumping off point to explore how we piece our world view together from small scraps of information, leap to conclusions and are often blind to things that don't fit in with how we see the world. And we will add in a healthy dose of jazz singing, shadow puppetry and psychology illusions. Showings are 19th-21st October at Ovalhouse, London, and 2nd November at the Old Fire Station, Oxford.
