Workshop 2: Exploring Themes ‘Global Glasgow’ and ‘For the People’

Dates
Saturday, June 29, 2019 - 11:00 to 15:30
Location
Blythswood Room, The Mitchell Library, (Floor 5) North Street Glasgow G3 7DN

Members who attended the first workshop suggested some topics within each of these themes. For ‘Global Glasgow’ these include: the industrial impact of Glasgow on the world; migration to Glasgow; history of buildings in Glasgow; William McFarlane industrial architects. Under ‘For the People’ we suggest: culture for the people; City/ Burgh Council policies. These topics and themes can include a wide range of subjects, so please bring along some of your archival research and contribute to our discussions. We’ll help you develop your research and presentation skills and consider possible collaborations between members so that we can start to shape the programme for November’s Public Study Day.

For new members there will be an opportunity to give a 3-minute snapshot presentation about your own use of the Archives and the project you’re working on. Refreshments and lunch provided.
