Successful Delivery of the Cultural History of Glasgow Research Network First Workshop

On Monday 18th March, Elaine, Carol, and Irene successfully delivered the first of our series of workshops and study days at The Mitchell Library, Glasgow.

The workshop started with an introduction to the Glasgow City Archives led by Dr Irene O’Brien (senior archivist) and Dr Elaine Moohan (project lead), and included a skills development section on handling archival materials given by Barbara Neilson (archivist). In the second session of the afternoon, 10 members of the network provided snapshot 3-minute presentations of their research topic; these included historians (local history group and academic), music historians, archivists, research students, and museum curators. The project team was delighted that almost 30 researchers attended this event.

The second workshop is scheduled for June, the third in September, and the Open Study Day in November. Dates will be published on this website.
