Emma Brice

Research Student

I received my degree in Psychology in 1998 at De Montfort University. After many years running my own business, I was finally able to come back to Psychology and completed my Masters at York St John in 2017. I have now been lucky enough to secure a place to do my PhD with the OU to continue my research part-time.

Research Interests

I am primarily interested in how data privacy is constructed in discourse, the ideological dilemmas that are presented and the way any conflicts between ideologies are resolved. I am currently looking at how informational privacy is talked about by the Government, Media and Individuals. I am also interested in the prevalence of mass surveillance and data collection and the impact this has had on our understanding of citizenship.
