The School of Arts & Humanities has been central to The Open University since its foundation 50 years ago, providing award-winning, high-quality teaching and research in Art History, Classical Studies, Creative Writing, English Literature, History and Music. We use texts, music, artwork, objects and ideas to explore the history and culture of societies past and present.
The School of Psychology & Counselling is Europe’s largest provider of university-level education in Psychology & Counselling, offering undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research qualifications. The school has a vigorous research culture with strengths in psycho-social perspectives, counselling and forensic psychology.
The School of Social Sciences & Global Studies is home to a diverse range of teaching that spans core subjects in the Social Sciences and Arts: Social Policy & Criminology, Politics, Economics, Sociology, Development, Geography, Philosophy and Religious Studies.
