GOTH Live Performance Event

Dates
Thursday, October 12, 2023 - 14:30 to 17:00
Location
OU Library, MK - Seminar Room 6

The Theatre of the Gentle Furies will share early extracts from their new project looking at ancient myths about people and the natural world in the light of our relationship with the changing environment today. Co-Artistic Director Christine Plastow will introduce the performance, which will feature new writing by SJ Brady and Wendy Haines, performed by SJ Brady, Sinead Costelloe, and Malinda Smith.

For this event we are also delighted to showcase extracts of two plays from Exchange Theatre. We will be joined by artistic directors, actors and translators David Furlong and Rosie Hilal. These performers, and their work, will be introduced by Emilia Wilton-Godberfforde who specialises in early modern French theatre.

The performances will include:

Racine's Bérénice in a new translation by Rosie Hilal

and

Moliere’s Le Misanthrope, translated by David Furlong
