The conference will consider the strategies writers use to engage with personal or public politics in today's restless world.

The day will consist of talks, panels and Q&A discussions.

Keynote speaker:

  • Bernardine Evaristo, MBE, Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University
  • Tanika Gupta, MBE, a multi award-winning playwright whose extensive work for stage, screen and radio
  • Paul Sirett, an Olivier-nominated, award-winning playwright and dramaturg and musician.

Panel discussions:

Imagination and the Natural World’ with Sally O’Reilly (OU), Siobhán Campbell (OU) and Sarah Butler (OU)

Writing Talk: interviews, oral history and creative writing’ with Emily Masserano, Emma Sweeney and Shanta Everington.
