Story in Action training day photo

In April 2016, as part of the PASAR project we trained 20 researchers, practitioners (migration, families, ESOL, theatre, arts, voluntary sector) and educators working with migrants and refugees. This was part of a pilot in using participatory theatre methods for learning and social change. This workshop explored the training and methods needs of academics, professionals and social activists regarding their work with marginalised groups, particularly paying attention to participatory, mobile and theatre based methods in social research. The event created a space for collaboration and exchange among theory and practice based initiatives in the field of migration and social action.

This four day training

- Systematised the combination of Playback and Forum as a method,

- Reflected on training needs of researchers, teachers, community workers and policy makers.

- Created impact by training 20 international participants in theatre methods

- Reflected on collaborations of academics art practitioners and community groups
