Professor Gini Harrison hosted an OPRC Public Lecture on the perinatal period surrounding childbirth, which is a time of profound change often accompanied by stress and heightened risk of mental health challenges, including anxiety and depression. While postnatal depression (PND) is widely researched, perinatal anxiety - often more prevalent and independent of PND—remains under-recognized and untreated.
This gap has serious consequences for mothers, babies, and society. This talk explores women’s experiences of perinatal anxiety, factors that exacerbate or alleviate symptoms, and innovative ways to harness technology to support wellbeing in the digital age.
Join us to learn how digital solutions can transform care for women and birthing people during this critical time.
