I attained my BA and MA in Ancient History at the University of Manchester and went on to write my Ph.D. there on the epigraphic culture of the interstate shrine of Amphiaraos at Oropos. I have worked as Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Manchester (2014-2018), Associate Lecturer at the Manchester Metropolitan University (2016-2017), and Lecturer in Ancient History at Lancaster University (2019). I joined the Open University in 2019 as Lecturer in Classical Studies.
My research interests lie in ancient Greek history and particularly ancient Greek epigraphy. I am fascinated by the way in which inscriptional evidence may be interpreted as monumental discourse of interaction, which is the focus of my recent monograph Reinventing the Amphaireion at Oropos (Brill, 2021).
I have wide teaching experience in ancient Greek and Roman history and ancient Greek language. At the Open University, I have taught on the following Classical studies modules: Exploring the Classical World (A229), Myth in the Greek and Roman Worlds (A330), Reading Classical Greek: Language and Literature (A275), and MA Classical Studies Part 1 (A863). I have also authored material on the myth and the Eleusinian Mysteries for the new module Greek and Roman Myth: Stories and Histories (A350).
