Shannon joined The Open University as a PhD researcher in 2021. Prior to this she completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology at The University of Bedfordshire in 2018, graduating with a First Class Honours. This was followed by a MA in Criminology at the same institution in 2019, where she graduated with a masters with distinction.
Shannon's research interests revolve around investigating topics relating to race, racism, gender and sexuality.
Shannon is based in the sociology department at the OU and was awarded a studentship by The Open University to conduct her current PhD project titled: Critically examining race, racism and decolonisation at The Open Universitity.
