De Montfort University, Leicester Meet-up

On June 13, 2024, Dr. Emma Johnston hosted a face-to-face meeting at De Montfort University to mark the three-month milestone of the project. It was an excellent opportunity for the team to discuss various aspects of the project and to set goals and strategies to accomplish them.

We had the opportunity to explore some of the unique features of the De Montfort facilities, such as the forensic science lab and the advanced forensic science technology used for both research and teaching purposes.

The staff kindly showed around the forensic science lab and demonstrated some of their equipment.

Our next stop was The Great Hall, a building steeped in history, originally constructed in 1150 and serving as a Court from 1821 to 1990. Today, it houses De Montfort University’s esteemed Business School. The team had the unique opportunity to see the courtroom with its remarkable 16th-century roof and the holding cells beneath it.
