On November 9, 2024, we successfully conducted our first focus group, marking a significant step in our data collection journey. The focus group was led by Dr. Clair Dempsey and facilitated by Fast Familiar company.
The participants followed a crime scenario by watching engaging testimonial videos from various individuals involved in a crime. They had the chance to share their opinions and experiences, and engage in stimulating discussions with one another, analysing the crime scenario presented.

On 12 November 2024, some of our team members embarked on a three-day trip to Glasgow, where they conducted focus group sessions with local residents. Clair skilfully led and facilitated the focus groups, - utilizing her native Scottish accent to great effect, - with assistance from Lara and Violeta.
Our participants were individuals from communities that are often underrepresented in the criminal justice system. Their unique perspectives, shared during the couple of hours they kindly dedicated to our project, provided invaluable insights into trust in forensic science.
Our journey was filled with learning experiences, allowing us to meet new people, learn new things, see beautiful places and overcome unexpected obstacles. The availability of beverages and snacks, even on the rough days, was a source of inspiration.
We are deeply appreciative of the valuable contributions of our participants. Their experiences and opinions on trust in forensic science have enriched our research with their insights, and we are grateful for their time and effort.
