Professor Lara Frumkin gave a talk for the Open Psychology Research Centre in which she addressed the role accents play in how we perceive and make decisions about people. In the session, she explored the impact of accents through several real cases as well as opinion surveys of the UK public about accents.  She discussed research uncovering the implication of making judgements based on accents and spoke about how we might stop accents-rather than the message content- from influencing our decisions.
