The report presents research findings from the project 'Citizens in the making': Educating young citizens in Wales', funded by the Research Wales Innovation Fund, in collaboration with the OU in Wales.

Drawing on document analysis, interviews with teachers and focus groups with students, the report highlights key challenges and opportunities of citizenship education in the Welsh context. It also brings attention on the disconnection between 'formal' citizenship education and students' everyday understandings and practices of citizenship. The report concludes with some useful recommendations for educational practice in the field.
