The Open University's Classical Studies journal, ‘New Voices in Classical Reception Studies’, has been selected as the pilot journal for Scottish Universities Press’s (SUP) new journal publishing programme.
Founded in 2006, New Voices is an established open access journal that showcases innovative research on the ongoing significance of the ancient Greco-Roman world from antiquity to the present. It is particularly recognised for supporting early career researchers and encouraging diverse perspectives within the field.
The selection by SUP recognises New Voices' international reputation for supporting innovative and inclusive scholarship, while also highlighting the OU's longstanding commitment to open research. As a member of SUP, the OU is helping to develop sustainable, not-for-profit approaches to academic publishing that make research freely available to readers worldwide.
The Co-editors Joanna Paul (OU) and Fiona Hobden (OU in Scotland) welcomed the announcement:
“We are delighted that SUP has chosen New Voices to lead its pilot journal programme. Over the past twenty years, our journal has gained a high profile as an innovative and inclusive home for cutting-edge research in classical reception studies. We are excited to be working with SUP, an organisation whose values align so closely with our own, on the next stage of the journal’s growth and development.”
