The OU Music and Sound Research Hub brings together Open University staff and PhD students whose research concerns any aspect of music and/or sound. Our members are active researchers in faculties, schools and institutes across the university including the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, The Open University Business School, the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies, the Knowledge Media Institute, the Centre for Research in Computing, the Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and the Institute of Educational Technology.
Our members draw on a variety of approaches in their exploration of particular aspects of music and sound, both historical and contemporary, in relation to the following research areas:
