Dr Renate Dohmen will participate in an invitation-only workshop initiated by the Jaipur Palace Museum in preparation for a larger project regarding the photography of Sawai Ram Singh, Maharaja of Jaipur (1835-1880) in the context of princely photography and amateur arts during the British Raj. It will be led by Giles Tillotson, Consultant Director at the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust, Jaipur City Palace, and Mrinalini Venkateswaran, Museum Consultant, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust. Other attendees include Rahaab Allana, Alkazi Foundation, the independent scholars Gayatri Sinha, the collector Rajeev Rawat, and Laura Weinstein, Ananda Coomaraswamy Curator of South Asian and Islamic Art, Museum of Fine Art, Boston.
