OU Music is proud of its academic partnership with the Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment (OAE), one of the UK’s leading professional ensembles. The OAE is famed for the depth of the research that informs its performances of music from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries, and for its willingness to explore neglected areas of the repertoire and alternative concert formats. Appropriately, the partnership was inaugurated with an event at the ‘Hidden Musicians’ conference held at the OU in January 2016.
The OU and OAE collaborate to produce pre-concert talks, study days, and other events and projects that promote the mission of their partnership, ‘bringing music to our students, and our research to the public’.
