Dr Precious Chatterje-Doody (Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Studies) has been inducted as a member of the UK Young Academy.

Founded in 2022, the UK Young Academy connects and develops talented individuals in the early years of their career from a wide range of sectors to collaborate in making a difference in the world. The UK Young Academy was established as an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Academy of Medical Sciences, British Academy, Learned Society of Wales, Royal Academy of Engineering, Royal Irish Academy, Royal Society of Edinburgh, and the Royal Society. While most leading scientific nations have a Young Academy of their own, until 2022, there was not a UK-wide body to represent this important group of emerging leaders.

Precious is one of 32 members inducted in the second cohort in 2023, bringing membership of the UK Young Academy to 99. Young Academy members are already excelling in their fields. The Academy provides a forum for them to exchange ideas, share expertise and participate in local and global policy discussions with the aim of tackling challenges based on areas that matter to them.
