This FREE 3-day online international conference, Literature Matters, encourages participants to interrogate the importance (or not) of literature and writing in the 21^st century.

In partnership with University Music, Bournemouth, The Open University Literature and Music Research Group are organising a one-day symposium on the theme of Words, Music and Silence, which will take place on Friday 28^th June, 2024 at Bournemouth University (BH12 5BB). The day will conclude with a lecture recital exploring words, music, silence and disability given by the concert pianist Duncan Honeybourne, whose career has been shaped by his autism.

We’re delighted to invite you to the launch of OpenARC, the new school-wide research centre in Arts and Humanities at The Open University, on the 10th June 2024. With the theme of ‘Arts and Humanities research for the 21st century’, the event showcases and explores new directions in Arts and Humanities research, through an exciting mix of talks, stalls and an afternoon panel of high-profile external speakers.
