The Launch event

The Launch (27th March 2024) was a joint event with another UKRI-funded project: ‘Towards a Smart Digital Forensic Advisor to Support First Responders with At-Scene Triage of Digital Evidence’, led by Dr Mark Warner.

Forensic Science in 21st Century, The Bow Street Police Museum

One of our team members Dr Emmanuel Nsiah Amoako gave a presentation on ‘21st century forensic science—Trust in forensic science project’ at the ‘Past, Present, and Future; The murder of Emily Kaye, 100 years on’ event.

De Montfort University, Leicester Meet-up

On June 13, 2024, Dr. Emma Johnston hosted a face-to-face meeting at De Montfort University to mark the three-month milestone of the project. It was an excellent opportunity for the team to discuss various aspects of the project and to set goals and strategies to accomplish them.

Edinburgh Meet-up

On 5 September 2024, Professor Lara Frumkin hosted a team meeting at The Open University offices in Edinburgh. The meeting marked the six-month milestone of the project, and it was a valuable opportunity for the team to meet face-to-face, foster personal connections and allow for in-depth discussions about the project's progress.

The Chartered Society of Forensic Science Conference 2024

The Charted Society of Forensic Sciences organised its annual conference at Leeds Horizon on 18 October 2024 on the topic of ‘Collaboration: the cornerstone of forensic science’. Dr Violeta Kapageorgiadou from the Trust in Forensic Science project and Dr Cathy O’Brien from the Triage project had the opportunity to give a joint presentation on ‘A Collaborative Approach to Understanding Digital Triage and Trust in Forensic Science’.

The Chartered Society of Forensic Science Webinar 2024

The project team presented at The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences webinar on 9th October 2024. Prof. Lara Frumkin spoke on behalf of the team as part of a series of talks on UKRI forensic science sandpit funded projects.

Focus groups in the UK

On November 9, 2024, we successfully conducted our first focus group, marking a significant step in our data collection journey. The focus group was led by Dr. Clair Dempsey and facilitated by Fast Familiar company.

Tri-Project Stakeholder Event: Advancing Forensic Science for Justice

On 12 February 2025, Friends House in London played host to a dynamic stakeholder event, bringing together stakeholders from across the criminal justice system. Co-organised by academic researchers from three pioneering projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) following the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Forensic Science for the Justice System Sandpit (2023), the event served as a platform for collaboration, discussion, and knowledge exchange.
