Conference: Improving Access to Higher Education and Employment for Forced Migrants

Hosted by Swansea City of Sanctuary in partnership with The Open University’s Professor of Sociology, Marie Gillespie, this conference on Monday 14th June at 10:00-17:00 aims to improve access to higher education and employment opportunities including the role of further education for forced migrants in Wales and beyond.

Announced as part of a £147m package of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding, The Open University’s Decolonising Education for Peace in Africa (DEPA) project has received £2.2 million of funding.  Projected outcomes will include the development of training for educators using decolonised learning pedagogy and content.
